Genizah & Jewish Book Burial Service
March 31 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
A Genizah is a storage area where worn-out Jewish books and papers containing God’s name in Hebrew, as well as other ritual and ceremonial objects no longer fit for use, are collected prior to burial in a Jewish cemetery.
Bring your worn-out Jewish books and talitot and join us as we travel by bus to O’Donnell Street Cemetery. The bus will depart Temple Oheb Shalom at 9:30 AM and will be back in time to pick up your children from Religious School. There will be a box located in our Chapel lobby for those who have items for burial, but do not wish to attend this service.
