Chevrat Mitzvah (Caring Committee)
The Chevrat Mitzvah’s mission is to reach out to the members of Temple Oheb Shalom who are in need of help and support. It strives to provide greater access and accessibility to congregational life for all Temple members.
Members of the Committee provide moral support in times of crisis. At the request of the clergy, they visit congregants in the hospital, nursing facility and those who are homebound. They also make shiva calls on behalf of the congregation and maintain regular phone contact with those members who are in need of a caring voice.
The Chevrat Mitzvah provides transportation to Temple members who would like to attend services, but are unable to do so independently, as well as transportation to pharmacies, markets and medical appointments.
